INTERSECTING LINES

If two lines have one common point, they are called intersecting lines.

This common point is called the point of intersection.

PARALLEL LINES

Two lines in a plane that do not intersect each other are said to be parallel. There is no point in common between the two parallel lines.

Check out the parallel sides in each of these given figures which are indicated by the arrows. The opposite sides of the given quadrilaterals are parallel to each other.
