prime factorisation-1 -post-9

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME FUN TODAY

So what you see here are the numbers 32 and 72 which are expressed as the product of their prime factors.

ie 32= 2×2×2×2×2

Are 4 and 8 prime factors?
That is correct. They are not because
Factors of 4 are – 1,2 and 4
Factors of 8 are – 1, 2,4 and 8

4 and 8 are therefore composite numbers since they have other factors beside 1 and the number itself.

Let me check if you have understood:
1.     90 = 3×3×10
2.     28 = 2×14
3.     18 = 2×3×3
4.     60 = 2×3×5×2
5.     27 = 3×9

Which of these show prime factorisation?
a .1 and 2     b. 2 and 3   c. 3 and 4   d. 4 and 5   e. 1 and 5

Look at this video. It will explain prime factorization in a simple manner.

Now that you got that, complete Q 2, a and b of exercise 3.5 in your text book.

DO IT YOURSELF (in your rough notebook)
Make four factor trees for the following numbers: 50, 70, 42 and 100. Also write down the number as the product of its prime factors.

YOU ARE THE BEST AND I HOPE YOU ARE NOW AN
ACE IN PRIME FACTORISATION

If you have a query, please post it in the comments box and I will get back to you
