common factors and multiples (post 6)

Good Morning Boys:

Today we are going to discuss how to find the common factors and common multiples for given two numbers. Are you ready! Shall we go!

Let us go to Exercise 3.4 now:

1(a): Take 20 and 28

Write down the factors of both:

20-> 1, 2, 4,5,10 and 20

28-> 1, 2, 4, 7, 14 and 28

Pick out the common factors

20 & 28 -> 1, 2, 4

Now, you can do (b), (c) and (d) in your Maths copy.

Let me show you how to do Question 2 (b)

2(a) 4, 8 and 12

Write down the factors first:

4-> 1, 2 and 4

8-> 1, 2, 4 and 8

12-> 1, 2, 3, 4 and 12

Pick up the common factors:

4,8,12-> 1, 2 and 4

Now, you can do Question 2(b) in your copy

Let me show you how to do the sums of common multiples:

Take Question 3(b)

Write down few multiples of 12 and 18

12-> 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120

18-> 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 126

Pick out three common multiples:

12, 18 -> 36, 72, 108

Now you can do Question 3(a) in your copy

I am sure you can do Question 4 by yourself though it will take some extra time for you.
